About

Post-punk from the Pacific, buried in the Wasatch.

Bleu Grave

Newport Beach · Salt Lake City

Bleu Grave is a post-punk band formed in 2022 by brothers Solomon and Smith Swensen. Raised on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, they grew up on The Cure, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Damned, Gary Numan, and Missing Persons — then dragged that 80s beach-goth DNA inland. Now based in Utah, the five-piece writes songs that sit between shoegaze haze and coldwave bite: analog grit, oceanic tribute, and the long shadow of the grave.

The year that broke open

2025 delivered Captains Quarters and Gravest Hits (Demos/Rarities), an opening slot for Missing Persons at the Whisky a Go Go, Cruel Fest in Chicago, and a new lineup — Kendall Jamison on drums, Jakob Hansen on bass, Madeline Kay on keys. In 2026 the band signed to Cleopatra Records, the same label that put out records they grew up stealing from older siblings.

From The Grave is the first transmission. A full album is next.
